On the 9th of November 2017, after several years of development, we had the pleasure to officially open the first CLIMECS setup. This setup is in use by the Department of Ecological Science, section Animal Ecology, at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. They have forty individual units, which they will use to test effects of extreme climatic events on species performance, shifts in community composition and ecosystem functioning.
